Is it necessary to varnish the Chalk paint?

No, it is not necessary to apply varnish to the Chalk paint. However, if you plan to paint a piece of furniture that is going to be exposed to heavy use, applying a varnish will provide an extra layer of resistance and protection. On the other hand, if you prefer to use wax, our new Colorless Water-based Wax seals and protects the paint, leaving a smooth surface to the touch.
